Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Homemade Labs, LLC (“Homemade,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Homemade mobile application and related websites or services (collectively, the “App”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
Homemade is a recipes app for homemade personal-care, household, kitchen, and bathroom products. This policy applies to the App operated by Homemade Labs, LLC.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
Depending on how you use Homemade, you may choose to provide:
- Account details such as email address, display name, or sign-in credentials if you create an account
- Recipes, ingredient lists, instructions, notes, photos, and other content you save or publish in the App
- Feedback, support requests, or other messages you send us
You are not required to create an account to browse public content, but some features (saving recipes, syncing across devices, or creator tools) may require one.
Device and Usage Data
We may collect technical information needed to run and improve the App, such as device type, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and anonymous session identifiers.
Anonymous Usage Data
We may use anonymous session identifiers (for example via Firebase Authentication or similar providers). We do not require your legal name, phone number, or government ID to use core recipe features.
Analytics Data
We use third-party analytics tools to understand how people use Homemade and to improve the product. These tools may collect information such as screens viewed, time spent in the App, device type, and general location at city or region level. Tools we may use include:
- Google Analytics — see Google’s Privacy Policy
- Amplitude — see Amplitude’s Privacy Policy
Analytics data is used in aggregate or with anonymous identifiers, not to build a public profile of you.
Advertising Data (Mobile App Only)
If we run user-acquisition campaigns, the mobile App may use advertising measurement tools (such as Meta’s advertising platform) to measure whether ads are effective and to reach people who may find Homemade useful. This tracking, if enabled, occurs in the mobile App, not merely by visiting a marketing page.
On iOS, we will ask for your permission before enabling any ad tracking, in accordance with Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. If you decline, no ad tracking data will be collected for that purpose. On Android, you can opt out through your device’s ad settings.
Meta’s use of measurement data is governed by Meta’s data policy. You can manage ad preferences at facebook.com/about/ads.
Location Data
Homemade does not require precise GPS coordinates for its core recipe features. If a future feature (for example, finding nearby ingredient suppliers) requests location, we will ask permission first, use it only for that feature, store it only as needed to provide the feature, and will not sell it or use it for unrelated advertising.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide recipe saving, browsing, search, and (if enabled) sync across your devices
- To operate, maintain, and improve App functionality
- To understand how the App is used through anonymized or aggregated analytics
- To respond to support requests
- To measure advertising campaign effectiveness, where you have not opted out
- To comply with law and protect the security of the App and our users
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers that help us operate the App, and only as needed for that purpose. Providers may include:
- Google Firebase / Firestore or similar backend services — authentication, content storage, and sync
- Google Analytics — anonymized usage analytics
- Amplitude — anonymized product analytics
- Meta (Facebook) — ad campaign measurement (mobile App only, subject to your ATT / device choices)
- Apple and Google — app distribution, in-app purchases, and platform analytics they collect as store operators
Each provider has its own privacy practices. We encourage you to review their policies. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will take reasonable steps to keep this policy’s protections in place or notify you.
4. Data Retention
Account and recipe content you save is kept until you delete it or close your account, unless we must retain a limited copy for legal, security, or backup purposes. Analytics and logs are kept only as long as useful for operating and improving the App. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at the email below.
5. Children's Privacy
Homemade is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
6. Your Choices
- Account and content: You can edit or delete recipes and other content you saved. You can request account deletion by emailing us.
- Location: If a feature requests location, you can deny or revoke permission in device settings.
- Analytics: You may opt out of Google Analytics via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on where applicable.
- Ad tracking (mobile App): On iOS you will be prompted via Apple’s ATT framework before tracking begins — you can deny or revoke this in Privacy settings. On Android, use Settings → Google → Ads. You can also manage Meta ad preferences at facebook.com/about/ads.
- Notifications: You can disable push notifications in device settings.
7. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use and disclose it, the right to request deletion of that information, the right to correct inaccurate information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
For purposes of the CCPA, we do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any of these rights, email support@homemadeapp.co. We may need to verify your request before completing it.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Third-Party Links
The App or our website may link to third-party sites or services we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own. Review their policies before providing them information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will note significant changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
